Making the World Cuter GIVEAWAY!

Hi friends!

We're sponsoring a giveaway beginning tomorrow (Tuesday, 21 February) on Making the World Cuter. If you've been eyeing our Love Cuff, be sure to stop by and enter to win.

The Love Cuff

The Love Cuff features the name(s), word(s), or message of your choice hand-hammered into a beautiful sterling silver cuff measuring 3/8" in width and 6" in total length (which adjusts to fit most wrists). In addition, this bracelet can be stamped on both the outside and the inside! Stamp the name of your BFF on the outside, with an inside joke on the interior; personalize it with your children's names on the outside and their birthdates on the inside; or get really original and use the GPS coordinates of your first date and include a short message to your honey on the reverse. The possibilities are endless! *Double-sided stamping is an additional charge in our shop, but it will be included FREE for the winner of this giveaway.

Rings are Here!

Stack up the Love
Last week we made our first several rings...and learned A LOT.

3mm ring with tiny typewriter font

6mm ring with medium caps font

  • Lesson 1: The ring must fit the mandrel snugly. If it doesn't, the ring will dent when struck with a marking tool. This would be remedied by a half-size mandrel. Ours is whole-size stepped (rather than tapered, so that we can stamp wide-shanked rings), and sometimes the "whole-size" ring does not fit without slipping.
  • Lesson 2: A ring stretches as it is stamped. The more characters, the more stretch.
  • Lesson 3: Rings are expensive.
  • Lesson 4: Rings are way easier to stamp than message rings, which are tied with the GPS Necklace as my least favorite items to stamp (These are also, ironically, two of our biggest sellers). I was surprised at how easy the rings are!

A Promotional Idea
We've been brainstorming ways to promote our business that don't cost a lot of money. One idea we had came as a sort of accident: An Etsy customer purchased a pendant in a font that is not often chosen, so we took good photos of it and listed it as a new item in our shop. She was totally delighted to see her necklace in our shop and proceeded to post the listing on her Facebook page. Sweet! New publicity in an entirely new circle of folks...and it was totally free!

Until now, almost no one has chosen the 2.5mm caps font--and it looks so great! We're curious to see how much the product photo will influence customers.
That got us thinking. What if, when a customer orders an item that we don't often make, we snap some good photos of it, create a listing, and then offer the buyer a sweet deal: Post a link to the listing on your Facebook page, along with a unique promotional code. If someone purchases an item in our shop using that promotional code, we give you something free (like a minigram or single disc charm with birthstones).

It's just an idea, but we're definitely willing to try it! It wouldn't necessarily be free, since we may be giving something away, but that's still a pretty minimal investment to enter a new market. Much better than an Etsy showcase--which has NEVER brought many bites!

We hope you are finding our posts interesting! Thank you for reading.

Enjoy your day. :)
